With Kool Math, campers practice problem-solving through games and hands-on math activities, then apply those skills in interactive technology-based projects. Dance Camp: Ballet, Hip-Hop & Jazz in Lanham, MD

This camp combines traditional sports training with SMARTS's signature focus on holistic development. While athletics are the primary focus, campers also engage in activities designed to foster critical thinking, teamwork, nutrition, personal hygiene, and self-expression, consistent with our integrated approach during the school year. The Fan Boys don’t participate in dance, but will participate in field trips.

A Day at SMARTS Summer Camp
This sample schedule shows what a camp day may look like. Timing may vary by week, especially on field trip days. Depending on a student's age group, certain days are focused on field trips only, and on other days they are in the studio, rotating through Hip-hop, Jazz, Ballet, Tap, Music, Art, Reading, Science, and Math.
- 6:30 AM–9:00 AM: Before care and arrival.
- 9:00 AM–10:15 AM: STEAM projects and Kool Math activities.
- 10:15 AM–10:30 AM: Breakfast snack.
- 10:30 AM–11:30 AM: Dance instruction in ballet, hip-hop, or jazz.
- 11:30 AM–12:15 PM: Creative writing or musical theater rehearsal.
- 12:15 PM–12:45 PM: Lunch.
- 12:45 PM–1:30 PM: Outdoor activities.
- 1:30 PM–3:00 PM: Field trips or rotating camp activities.

Camp Attire & Performance Requirements
Theatrical Attire
Summer camp students will present a theatrical production in full costume. Costumes must follow our summer camp theme. We won’t place your child’s costume order until we receive the deposit. Students will receive a costume for their jazz, hip-hop, and tap routines. Please note that all costume deposits and fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
SMARTS Summer Camp T-Shirt
All students are required to wear a SMARTS camp t-shirt on every field trip. Summer camp t-shirts must be preordered for this summer. Summer camp t-shirt order forms will be emailed to you so you can place an order.
Pre-ordering your child’s summer camp t-shirt ensures they receive the correct size. Camp t-shirts are available for $25.00 per shirt. Students will not be permitted on any field trips without a camp t-shirt after June 22, 2026. If your child arrives at camp without a t-shirt, you will be notified immediately.
Dance Ready Attire
To participate in dance class, students must wear appropriate attire during class. Students must report to camp fully dressed in their dance attire. The dance attire may be worn under their regular clothing.
The attire for girls consists of black leotards, ballet flesh-tone tights, flesh-tone ballet slippers, black tap shoes, and black jazz sneakers. The attire for boys consists of black shorts, black T-shirts, black tennis shoes, and black tap shoes, with black socks.
Fan Boys
Boys are completely exempt from dance activities. They only need to wear athletic apparel daily and their camp t-shirts on field trip days, which is standard for all campers.
Meals, Snacks & Food Policies
Parents should provide a breakfast snack that does not require cooking or heating. This may include cold cereal, breakfast bars, fruit, or prepared and warmed food. Parents should also prepare a bag lunch daily unless otherwise noted. Lunches should be stored in an identifiable lunch bag with the child’s name. Please be advised that students will not have access to refrigeration or a microwave.
SMARTS will provide students with an afternoon snack. Please note that SMARTS does not serve snacks containing nuts. Please provide plenty of water for your child each day.
Summer Camp Tuition & Payment Options
SMARTS Summer Camp requires a minimum commitment of four consecutive weeks. Tuition fees are due on the Friday before the commencement of class on Monday. Tuition payments can be made weekly or biweekly.
Register before June 1st and receive 50% off the registration fee. Before care and after care are free for campers. Please contact SMARTS for current weekly tuition, biweekly tuition, before-care rates, and after-care rates.
There are no full-payment discounts available at SMARTS Summer Camp. There is no reduction in fees for temporary absences, including those caused by the student’s accident or illness.
Please note that the weekly tuition fee does not include field trip expenses. Field trip fees are additional. Locations will be determined in May based on availability, safety policy, and venue procedures.

Summer Camp Hours & Before/After Care in Lanham, MD
For families who need before and after-care in Lanham, MD, SMARTS offers extended care around the core camp day.
The core hours of operation for SMARTS Summer Camp are Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–3:30 PM, from June 22 to August 14.
Before care hours are 6:30 AM–9:00 AM. All students reporting for before care and camp must be checked in to camp by 8:45 AM.
All students participating in after care must be picked up by 6:00 PM each day. Please plan to pick up your child on time. There is a $30.00 babysitting fee per child for every 15-minute interval, or $2.00 per minute, after 6:00 PM. This fee must be presented upon pickup of your child. If the child is picked up late three times, the child will be released from the program for the remainder of the Summer Camp.
